1. GEOGRAPHY:

Topography

 

Cyprus is the third largest island in the Mediterranean and lies at the easternmost end, 40 miles South of Turkey, 60 miles west of Syria. Lebanon and Israel are close to the South-coast. The nearest Greek island of any size, Rhodes, is over 200 miles away; Athens is 500 miles away. It is 150 miles long, 60 miles wide and has an area of 3,572 sq miles. There are only seasonable rivers.
