The delegates called for a better planning, coordination, organisational growth and consequently unity in action of the trade unions and working people of Europe. They stressed the urgent need for the class orientated trade union movement, as the sole voice of working people, should lead the struggles of working people today.

ETUCE and PAN EUROPEAN Executive Board Meeting Report

The meeting took place on 17-18 March in Brussels. A working group was formed which will specifically deal with race, color, religion, language, ethnic origins, gender and gender discrimination and will fight against, in order to eliminate these discriminations.

Topography

Cyprus is the third largest island in the Mediterranean and lies at the easternmost end, 40 miles South of Turkey, 60 miles west of Syria. Lebanon and Israel are close to the South-coast. The nearest Greek island of any size, Rhodes, is over 200 miles away; Athens is 500 miles away. It is 150 miles long, 60 miles wide and has an area of 3,572 sq miles. There are only seasonable rivers.
